Title:
Interesting Article on Skateboard RE-cycling
Robert Brink offers a take on the different approaches made by skateboard manufacturers to recycle wood waste. Unfortunately, I think the elephant in the corner of the room regarding skateboard waste, is the lack of available sources to recycle used skateboards and wheels. As a shop, I always try to save old boards for kids in need but there is always a point where the board breaks or becomes unusable because of wear. So, eventually everything that goes into skateboarding ends up in a landfill.
As of now, there are only a couple of options for companies to re-use their waste wood.

He also has an article about urethane recycling.

Vehicle Skateboards just released a run of recycled skateboard decks. The jury is out on the quality, but I applaud the effort.
